Infineon CEO visited Peak Amplification booth for a look at the AM-400C2G GaN module
On September 11, Infineon hosted its annual OktoberTech™ Taipei showcase—bringing together technology partners, engineers, and system designers to explore the future of smart, secure, and energy-efficient innovation.
As part of this year’s lineup, Peak Amplification, a division of Elytone, joined as an Infineon partner to demonstrate real-world progress in GaN-based audio amplification—moving from concept to commercial-ready performance.
What We Showcased – AM-400C2G GaN Amplifier Module

The AM-400C2G module pairs Infineon’s CoolGaN™ transistor IGB110S10S1 with the MERUS(TM) IRS20957S Class D controller in delivering high power density, switching efficiency, and audio fidelity. Scalable to 375 W x 2 at 2 Ω without a heatsink, it includes all required power supplies and connectors for quick evaluation, showcasing how GaN elevates Class-D amplification.
AM-400C2G (100V) Specifications:
- THD ~ 0.0008%
- Rated load impedance: 2 Ω to 4 Ω (can drive 8 Ω at lower power)
- At 200W output power, 4Ω test, 80℃, no heat sink
- At 250W output power, 95.8% efficiency
- Number of audio channels: 2 x single-ended or 1 x BTL
- Audio input format: Balance or Unbalanced input
- Small PCBA: 75mm × 35mm × 25 mm module
- Overcurrent protection (OCP) and overtemperature protection (OTP)
- Self-oscillating half-bridge topology
- External clock synchronization
Why GaN Matters for Audio OEMs

Audio system designers are under growing pressure to deliver more power in less space—all while keeping systems cool and reliable.
This is where Gallium Nitride (GaN) becomes a game-changer. Compared to silicon-based designs, GaN enables:
- Cleaner sound with up to 10x less distortion and half the noise floor (category leading)
- Higher efficiency, reducing wasted energy and operating up to 20°C cooler
- Smaller footprint with higher power density, enabling more compact system builds
- Flexible deployment across stage amplification, commercial AV, and high-end residential audio
Demo Highlights – See It. Hear It. Trust It.

At the booth, visitors experienced high-fidelity audio playback powered by the AM-400C2G GaN module in a realistic system setup. Designed for performance under load without requiring a heatsink, the module demonstrated GaN’s advantages in both sound quality and thermal behavior.
Reflections from the Event Floor
Throughout the day, Peak Amplification engaged with OEM engineers, Infineon collaborators, and system architects exploring the adoption of GaN across audio, power, and mobility platforms.
Many were eager to see a commercially viable GaN amplifier in action—not just a concept or evaluation board. The event reaffirmed Peak Amplification’s commitment to bridging semiconductor innovation with full-stack amplifier design, and its role as a trusted integration partner within the Infineon ecosystem.
