Peak Amplification will have a live demo of the AM-400C2G at CEDIA Expo

TAIPEI, Taiwan – September 2, 2025 – Peak Amplification, a division of Elytone, today announced the launch of its first GaN–based amplifier modules co-developed with Infineon at CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver (Booth 739). Built to outperform traditional silicon-based Class-D amplifiers, the new amplifiers offer higher performance audio, higher power density, and significantly cooler and more efficient operation. These new GaN-based amplifiers are the start of long term Class-D innovation commitment for Peak Amplification, with their new development partner, Infineon.

GaN Amplifier Key Features:

  • Cleaner sound with up to 10x less distortion and half the noise floor (category leading)
  • Higher efficiency, reducing wasted energy and operating up to 20°C cooler than silicon-based Class-D
  • Smaller footprint with higher power density, enabling more compact system builds
  • Flexible deployment across stage amplification, commercial AV, and high-end residential audio

Real-World Applications

The new GaN amplifiers are best suited for applications demanding high amplification combined with high fidelity and low noise. Products will be offered for a wide range of product types, including stage and rack amplifiers, commercial installations, and premium consumer audio. Their compact footprint and thermal efficiency enable integrators and OEMs to achieve more powerful, yet space-efficient product designs.

"GaN technology allows us to raise the bar for amplifier performance. Customers benefit from cleaner sound, greater efficiency, and higher power density, all in a smaller and cooler-running module," said Albert Yong, Vice President of Audio/OEM at Elytone.

Peak Amplification new GaN amplifier module

Peak Amplification’s first GaN product, the AM-400C2G (100V), is launching under its Flexible Line (AM Series). Additional GaN products are already in development and will extend into the Integrated Line. A live demo of the AM-400C2G will be showcased at Booth 739, CEDIA Expo 2025.

The AM-400C2G module pairs Infineon’s CoolGaN™ transistor IGB110S10S1 with the MERUS(TM) IRS20957S Class D controller in delivering high power density, switching efficiency, and audio fidelity. Scalable to 375 W x 2 at 2 Ω without a heatsink, it includes all required power supplies and connectors for quick evaluation, showcasing how GaN elevates Class-D amplification.

AM-400C2G (100V) Specifications:

  • THD ~ 0.0008%
  • Rated load impedance: 2 Ω to 4 Ω (can drive 8 Ω at lower power)
  • At 200W output power, 4Ω test, 80℃, no heat sink
  • At 250W output power, 95.8% efficiency
  • Number of audio channels: 2 x single-ended or 1 x BTL
  • Audio input format: Balance or Unbalanced input
  • Small PCBA: 75mm × 35mm × 25 mm module
